Milaidhoo only accommodates children over the age of 9
If you’ve never been snorkelling in the dark before, then you’ve really missed a magical experience. At Milaidhoo we offer night snorkelling trips on our house reef several times a week, weather permitting.
While we don’t recommend snorkelling by yourself at night, these trips – which are guided by our Ocean Stories team – are a safe and informative way to see life on a coral reef after dark.
Every guest is given their own underwater flashlight and then the group heads into the water just after sunset to snorkel the Milaidhoo house reef.
What can be seen at night? Every trip is a different adventure! Sleeping parrotfish, who wrap themselves up in a transparent bubble are a likely sight. Sting rays, lionfish, moray eels and any number of starfish and other echinoderms patrol the corals.
