This Easter weekend our dive boat found another Olive Ridley turtle entangled in a plastic bag and in trouble. One of our dive masters jumped in first, and with some help from the team they pulled the turtle out and removed the rope that was deeply cutting into its left front flipper.
Our resident marine biologist, went to pick the turtle up and arranged a safe transfer to the nearest turtle rescue centre in Baa atoll.
We’ve named this juvenile turtle ‘Noor’ and we wish her a speedy recovery. We’ll keep you updated on her progress.
